Back in 2012, Brett and Ashley first crossed paths while working at Buffalo Wild Wings in Detroit. What started as casual conversations and shared shifts grew into a partnership filled with creativity, hard work, and a shared love for life’s simple joys.

Maxlow came to life not through one defining moment, but through a series of small sparks: Ashley’s ever-growing candle collection, a craving for a creative outlet, and the unexpected free time that COVID provided. Together, they started experimenting in their basement, pouring their first candles and dreaming big.

Brett is the steady hand behind every candle, meticulously hand-pouring each one. He’s also the go-to for tackling the practical side of the business, from logistics to tools that keep everything running smoothly. When he’s not working on Maxlow, Brett is likely cheering on the Detroit Lions (which inspired their GRIT candle), exploring estate sales, riding his motorcycle, or hitting the disc golf course.

Ashley is the creative force driving Maxlow’s aesthetic. She designs every label, curates the packaging, and keeps the social pages and website on point. When she’s not bringing Maxlow’s vision to life, you’ll find her at home cuddling with her pets Toby and Piper, vibing to her favorite playlist, making sourdough bread, or rearranging home décor for the hundredth time.

Together, Brett and Ashley juggle full-time jobs while growing Maxlow as their labor of love. Their shared passion for candles and each other is at the heart of everything they do. When they manage to take a break, you can find them indulging their inner foodies over a delicious meal or brainstorming their next big idea💡
